Well i got my 18 x 9.5 Chrome Zo6s from Tomz Wheels, Nice job on customer service by the way. Now i need to save up some money to get some tires... So how much should i expect to pay for a set of good/streetable tires? (keep in mind i drive her around alot so i need some that will last)

I went with the BFG KDW-2 P275/35/18. Cost me 201 each at tirerack and 35 bucks for delivery. These tires appear to be outstanding on dry roads and just OK on wet roads (look for reviews). These are summer only tires and are not designed for snow but I'm guessing you don't see much snow in Texas Treadwear is 300 and traction is AA. I have not yet installed them but will as soon as the weather breaks.

Doesn't anybody else find it rediculous that you can by 4 new chrome z06 wheels for quite a bit less than it costs to buy 4 decent tires???

Hmmm...So what size are you referring to? I would agree that there are a decent selection of tires under 150 when you have a 16" wheel and want a P245/50 tire. I doubt you are going to find a great selection of 18" name brand tires under 150 in the P275 or larger sizes.

I have tried 2 sets of "budget" tires and all I can say is you get what you pay for in most cases. Also keep in mind that treadwear numbers are only for comparing tires from the same manufacturer I believe. I Goodyear 300 rated tire can only be compared to another Goodyear tire. A 300 BFG will not wear the same as a Goodyear 300.

Nope, not at all. Wheels are for show, tires are how we get all that LS1 power to stick to the ground. In my opinion tires are one of the most important items on your car. You can have 600+ horsepower but what difference does that make if you can't get the power to the ground? I don't think I'll ever understand the folks that spend thousands of dollars on horsepower upgrades just to sit their cars on crap tires to save a few bucks.

OK, off my soapbox now.
