The y pipe is a pain in the ***...some have had problems with clearance. From what i've read if you f with it long enough you can get it to tuck pretty well. A lot of peole become very frustrated at this point. It is also one of the best flowing because of the flowmaster merge.

Everything fit except the driver's side piece that connects onto the head collector. It would not connect and still miss the SFC. I just had my local muffler shop mandrel bend a new piece that would fit perfectly. I tried getting everything lined up with perfect clearance by lying on the garage floor but it was not working. I even had the car 30" in the air. I ended up taking it to my local exhaust shop and we put it on the lift and installed it. Using the lift makes it alot easier. We got it to tuck up pretty nicely also. Not worth $500 IMO as it takes alot of work to make it fit properly. For $500 my buddy told me he could have made me an awesome custom mandrel Y with the Flowmaster Merge.

I been having the same thoughts about this Y, reviews seem mixed.
Any idea what cats QTP uses in the Y? Found Car Sound / Magnaflow cats for $65.00 each and I would guess the Flowmaster merge is around $50.00. Anyone out there with a custom cated Y want to post what it cost / issues??

I recently installed my qtp's with catted y. I agree check out SLPSS9723's setup. My car is lowered and have really crappy ground clearance. I called qtp after the initial install and talked with them. They even said their y is a pain in the ***, however they were nice enough to send me a new s-pipe with some different bends that runs off of the driver side header. I am thinking about getting some random tech cats and having a custom Y made. Just my .02

I have been researching this issue also. Currently, I am trying to find a reputable custom exhaust shop in Mid-Michigan. Here are some recent threads you might want to check out.

High Flow Cats
Who has a 3” catted Y w/ good ground clearance?
