Hey guys, wondering what size combustion chambers the lt1 heads have stock, thinking about doing a rebuild and looking for the right piston/compression set up.

probably gunna go for 10:1 to keep the nitrous happy.

Why would you drop compression for nitrous . IMO get the compression UP some how much depends on the cam and get quench set well to help avoid detonation. The stock 10.4 should be consider bare minimum for anything but boost.

Agreed. My '98Z runs at about 12:1, and just looooves the juice.

On race gas, of course. If you're going to run pump gas, I'd still shoot for 11:1, and splash it with race gas at the track.

mine were 54cc's and i thought the LT4's were the same only way the bumped the compression up is by the valve reliefs in the pistons according to this site http://www.grandsportregistry.com/lt1vslt4.htm
