Being young, insurance is a big deal to me. My sisters gonna be 17 in april and shes had her lisence since last july. Her first car, liablity only was like 70 bucks a month with good student. Now, she wrecked the first car in a few weeks, and its up to like 100 bucks a month. She, just like all other 16 year old female drivers i've been with, is a horrible driver. She floors it everywhere, tailgates, plays with the radio when she should be driving, takes corners too fast, just about ever negitive driving habbit you can have, she has. And most other girls I know her age are the same way. So why do they get lower insurance rates that us males? Mine, no wrecks, liablity, 16y/o is 98 bucks a month... If I get a ticket I bet it will be 198..

You have some crappy insurance if your rates or only 98 bucks a month. Or you are insured under your parents. My insurance is like 180 a month. Never had a ticket or wreck or anything. I have a good grades discount and safe driving discount. State Farm. Full coverage. 500,000 liability.

Nice title by the way ;) :jest:

Anyhow this topic makes me pretty angry. Girls drive waaaay worse than males especially at the younger level.

Maybe she isn't as good a driver as you, but I hope she has better grammar skills :)

Have a little restraint when it comes to using commas.

On average, males are more likely to take risks and drive aggressively. That's really about all there is to it.

According to a recent study (ill try and find where i read it) teengae girls are now just as likely to cause a wreck as teenage boys.

Legal sexism.......but statistics prove it, so it makes it right :eyes:

This idea still pisses me off, because I know so many more females than males who have gotten into accidents.

When a chick crashes its usually a small fenderbender. When a guy crashes they take out everything in site in that particular age group it sucks but you gotta pay your dues. You can't really boycott the insurance companies.

cash money is completely right...... girls on average are actually getting into more fender benders than guys but guys are crazy.........racing, driving very aggressively and all that crap. we tend to do much more money and LIFE claims. yeah it sucks being a guy when it comes to crap like this but its our own dumb faults i guess. my insurance at full coverage with 300,000 grand coverage is at 120 a month. went down a whole lot. last year i lived in utah and my coverage was 278 a month. I love california!

Here's an opinion from a female. I agree that the insurance rate difference is not fair. I also agree that most women can't drive worth a crap or park, for that matter. I think the difference is as someone has said that men in general will drive more aggressively and faster especially as teenagers. I don't think the insurance companies have figured out that now women are driving more aggressively as well. The problem as I see it is that most women do not know how to drive aggressively and that makes them dangerous. I will be the first to admit that I am a very aggressive driver and speed limits were made to be broken. I've been told by a few of my male friends that have ridden with me that I can handle my car as well as a man. I have to give credit to a man for that, though - my dad. He taught me to drive as soon as I could reach the pedals. I was driving around back country roads when I was about 10. He always told me he wanted me to be able to drive anything that I got behind the wheel of and took me out when I got my first car to teach me how to "drive a sports car".

more males are ricers than females. Females just like ricers.

So the insurance companies are punishing males for being ricers, and rewarding women for carrying on the genes of those ricers, so the insurance companies can make more money once their spawn inherit ricer driving habbits. :)

I consider myself able to take risky situations well or whatever. I drive pretty fast, aggressive and I've ridden with friends who have done some pretty stupid stuff. However, I have NEVER felt as unsafe as when I ride with my one female friend. she is just an awful driver. It literally scares me. I find myself going "WATCH OUT" and she finaly reacts after I say something. Shes been in 3 accidents since getting her license a few months before me (4+ years ago) and I have been in none. Shes always doing something like drinking something, eating, text messaging on her cell phone, changing radio stations, messing with her hair. she follows people ENTIRELY too close. its nerve wrecking to ride with her.
She had a blazer that got totaled so I foolishly GAVE her one of my cars to drive. This car was in good shape with 170k+ miles on it when I gave it to her. when she finaly got another car and gave it back it had 185k miles on it, dents all over, interior torn up, brakes warped (they were even replaced when she had it.) the car was basically beat.

There is another side of the spectrum. I let this one girl drive my car when it was bolt-ons only. she drove almost as well as I did. she could handle a car with power. she had it sideways and controlled it without ever letting off the gas. I was honestly very impressed.

So my opinion is either raise female insurance rates at least close to what guys pay, or better yet drop ours. Its ridiculous what my male friends and I have to pay (all who have NO accidents and very few traffic violations) to what my female friends pay.

On of my friends just imed me and told me his GF wrecked her new car * not new, but new to her, like a early 90's civic she got two weeks ago when she wrecked her first car *

Jesus, whats the matter with women?

I'll tell you why, recently I went to the dmv classes and there was only 2 ladies in there but, there was like twenty of us. Too many guys getting tickets IMO.

BC all the girls have to do is wink at the officer and they get out of a ticket.

My ex was a horrible ass driver. She ended up smashing through a telephone pole and smashing into a tree at 55mph. No seatbelt, head broke the windshield, shattered her ankle, lost her front teeth, and broke her nose. All beacause she was following to close to someone and wasn't paying attention when they hit the brakes.
After that, her parents bought her a an 00 Audi TT. Before the big wreak, she backed and bumped into almost everything.
I pay about $330 a month for insurance, and I bet her insurance is still about half that. I've had no speeding tickets, accidents or anything.

Simple awnser. ""While most females are scary drivers their wrecks are small. Most males wrecks are preceded by the following words "hey guys, watch this"""

But really though, most drivers my age scare me. I ride with them and cannot believe how they could possibly be so bad at such an easy task. Im not talking about driving in city traffic im talking about driving down a 4 lane divided highway with minimal to moderate traffic.

Yep, legal sexual and age and marital discrimination. That's why I have no problem filing a claim or suing an insurance company for any reason whatsoever. Funny how before I filed my first and only claim 2 years ago for a keyjob, my rates kept going up and up. No accidents, points, tickets, nothing AND I drive a tractor trailer for a living!! Insurance companies and lawyers, biggest scam going. They are all in each other's pockets and holding hands with politicians, so when I hear about them crying the blues I just sit back and laugh. Add up all the money you have pissed away on insurance. You could have made a nice nest egg for retirement start growing. If I find even a small scratch on my car, I call and file now. Fuck em, because believe me, they are fucking you!
