Default Gaskets for my new headers, which ones?

Hey everyone,

I got all of my old exhaust out of the car last weekend, and I just got my new headers in the mail

I'm getting ready for the install, and I didn't realize that the Pacesetters came with gaskets; I ordered fel-pro gaskets at my local advance auto. Which should I use?

Pacesetter gaskets or the Fel-pro? part number on the felpro is:MS 92467 ( I think thats the PN)

Fel-pros are metallic, the Pacesetters feel like a chew toy for my dog.. but if they work they work!

I would reuse the stock metal gaskets, or buy new GM metal ones. I have done three header installs and on all of them reused the stock metal gaskets and have never had a leak.

Replace the stock ones or get a new set. Do not use anything else unless you're feeling lucky.

I used the fel pro ones and they work great. They also make the install easier with the front and back bolt holes slotted.

I'd recommend new GM gaskets. They're very nice pieces. Don't reuse header gaskets unless you like leaks and that lovely ticking sound associated with it. Plus old leaky gaskets can lead to terrible things like burnt pistons (worst case scenario)

I bought an SLP install kit when I put my SLP LT's on, and the kit came with replacement GM gaskets.

I'd probably say about 75% of the people here that did a header install re-used the same gasket they took off, including myself.

Well, I ran into an unforeseen circumstance in the install.. omg o well, if you're curious see my thread in the internal engine forum 'spark plug being a pain'

So i guess i'll return the fel-pros and get some new GM gaskets.

Thanks for your inputs
