Default i need some advice for my lid (pics inside)

well, wehn i purchased my z it already had an aftermarket lid w/ k&n filter. it was one from stealthperformance. Whats was weird to me was that the intake end was oval instead of circular. and how my set up is weird too. from the lid i have a rubber coupling that seems to be from plumbing supplies, then to the maf, then another rubber coupling to the tB. even a stock bellow cant fit my lid. i know im losing hp there since the air isnt going through there freely like it should. should i just invest in a new lid? or is there anyway of improving my setup? any input would be great

maf supposed to clamp directly to the lid and then you have a bellow from the maf to the throttle body

now your pic looks round on both ends, i dont see an oval, maybe more bigger pics

well, if you see the end of my lid, it looks smaller than the maf side, its because the lid is oval horizontally. and thats my problem. any suggestions? i have generic bellows made of ordinary rubber

Stealthperformance makes the custom lower air box and lid right? It's a larger air box w/ a larger sized air filter that is supposed to flow more air than the stock box and lid? If so I've heard that people actually lost power going from a stock lower air box w/ aftermarket lid to the stealth performance lower air box and lid even though it's bigger.

i dont see the setup restricting air flow that much...if its an oval it probably still ends up having the same overall diameter as it would if it were round

yea i understand that. but my setup seems so weird since my maf is practically suspended by two rubber couplets. Usually isnt hte maf directly connected to the lid?

Yes the MAF is usually connected directly to the lid. I've never seen that setup before, but it looks like you should be fine.
