Default !EGR & !AIR Pass CA Smog?

So after I remove my egr and air will i be able to pass emissions with them removed after a tune? Or is this a visual thing to where I would need to find someone to overlook the egr and air? Also will I even pass emissions with these removed and good tune? Thanks!

I don't know a whole lot about california emissions, but if pop the hood and look, you're be able to tell if they are there or not. It probably wouldn't pass the smog test either. They are both there to reduce the smog.

Why bother removing them, neither have any affect on bhp so there's really no point.

Oh ok you can save a couple of lb's by removing the AIR system, but then again taking your shoe's off before you get in the car will do the same.

And removing the EGR may make more of an open space in the engine bay, but hay nobody drives round with the hood open do they.

IMO opinion leave them be, that way you won't have to worry about failing an inspection.

I lived in CA for 24 years; they are ****'s about emissions. they will open you hood and check for the EGR and AIR. In fact they will even to check to make sure they are functioning! I know because they did that with a Hundai Excel I took and got smogged. After that it's the sniffer test. If you fail, they send the info directly to Sacramento; then good luck getting your car smogged or registered.
