The car I am building should weight about 2550/2650 with me in it. A ls1 M6 with full exhaust and all the bolt-ons what do you think it will run?

I'm guessing stock motor 10.9/11.0 at 122/124 range {340/350rwhp}

with a f13/f14 cam 10.4/10.6 127/129{405/415}

H/C 10.0/10.2 130/134.{440/450}

But what do you think?

I know most 01/02 m6 ls1 38xx pounds run 12.7/13.0 at 109/112 range and I would be weighting 1200 pounds less.

Very light indeed! I would think you might start having problems hooking up with it that light.

Because I am using the LS1/t56 vs the factory motor and trans the car will actually get closer to a 50/50 weight setup.

Do you realize exactly how much work and $$$ its gonna take to get your car that light?

hell that's lexan glass, carbon fiber body panels and all... and that all cost big $$$, you dont mind me askin... Why so light with just a mild head and cam package? Are you tring to stay with in a class?

That is with the driver in it. And Im not worried about cost, the car itself will only cost a grand. What do you think it will run? No class or rules to follow.

Well the fastest SI car ran 10.9's at about 300 lbs heavier than you "should" be.
Fastest cam only car runs 10.2's at about 400 lbs heavier than you "should" be.
and the fastest H&C cars runs 9.90's at about 200 lbs heavier than you "should" be.
If you actually get the car that light you should have no problem being the "record holder" for all three of those categories.

If you're going to be at 2600 lb race weight,I hope you only weigh 100 lbs.:jest:

Let us know when you get your car done.It will cost shitloads of money to get that light.

Sounds like a cool project.

Are we even talking about a 4th gen f body here, or another car? I have seen what I would call one of the lightest cars built, a red car that eastside sold before they ever got it to the track, and it had glass hatch, hood, every single thing gutted out of it possible, TONS of work done to it, and that car was gonna be 2800 with driver with a awesome pro stock style cage... with a regular 10 point it would have been probably about 2700... to have a car in the weight that you are talking, I don't even know if it's possible. This car has spindle front suspension, struts, no double a arm, lexan glass, a fiberglass dash, a 3 gallon fuel cell only,no wireing at all, other then what was needed to run guages and computer..... just don't see a car getting to 2500.

The is not gonna be a f-body. It's a lighter car with a tough stock rear end. I have owned a few cars in my day and thing it is the perfect combo.

Fox body then I assume. I didn't think you were planning on getting a 4th gen f body to that weight, all makes sense now.

yea things make better sense now that your saying its not in an f-body because that is way too light I couldnt imagine that weight with driver.

2600 raceweight F bod (with driver140-150) is doable, but very expensive and not fun to look at.

Probably be one ugly car... probably not even easy to tell what it's supposed to be at that weight :jest:

Get the car to hook a 60' in the mid 1.4s to upper 1.5s and you'd be looking at a 10.3 - 10.55 range for that weight and 350rwhp.

It will be a mustang. I have owned 3 mustangs 91,90,95. Only the 95 was builted a few times H/C 302 then 347 and finally a 418. I have also owned 3 camaros 89 l98, 94 lt1 and 98 ls1 a4. The down side to the mustang is little motor and a weak transmission. You can make power with the sbf but to get the numbers a ls1 makes H/C vs a stroker 347 it won't be that streetable for daily driving plus it weights 200/300 more pounds. The camaro down fall is weight and a bitch rear end. So if you are not a chevy/ford hater then it the perfect car.
