Default What kind of Cat-back?

Hey, can anyone help me find out what kind it is. i purchased my car with this cat back on it and i think it might be a borla. i just want to make sure. And another question, if it is, what kind of extra piping will be needed, if any to hook it up to a hooker off road y-pipe?
Thanks in advance,
Shane

its a flowmaster muffler or a knock off one.

looks like it was just welded to the stock cat back.

what y pipe are you looking to get?

Its not Borla.
-Muffler looks like it has one in and two outs. Borla has one straight pipe and one pipe through the muffler
-Borla puts their logo on their mufflers/tips so if it was Borla you would know

Are you guys sure that isnt a stock catback. Ive seen formulas with tips that look just like that, and if i can remember (never really looked hard) my stock muffler looked pretty similar to that back in the day. Actually, seeing the weld marks its obviously just a aftermarket muffler with the same stock tips

Looks like an 80 series flowmaster muffler too me. So it could possibly be the American Thunder Catback with the stock tips or damn near close to stock tips put on it. Thats what was on mine, stock square tips with the Ameican thunder C/B/.

if it's just the stock pipe from the muffler to the stock y-pipe then will there be any problems fitting it up to my hooker y-pipe? And yeah i kinda thought it looked like a flowmaster muffler, still can't decide what tips though, they are chrome plated also.

i think its a stock cat back becuase if you look on the pipe coming from over the axle, it looks like they had a weld a exstention pipe in... thats common for flowmaster mufflers becuase there much shorter then stock.

really shouldnt have a problem, the stock cat back mounts to the same spot as an aftermarket one.

Guys, it's a Flowmaster 80 series weld in muffler like most of you are saying. And those are NOT Borla tips, LOL. My opinion...I really like the Flowmaster sound on the LT1, but get that junk off your car ASAP and put something better on it like a Hooker or SLP 2OTL cat-back system (flow much better and still sound awesome IMO).

the single out flowmasters are pretty good, just the cross flows suck... like most cross flow.

Yep its a Flowmaster 80 series. And the tips are not Borla tips. Borla tips have those intercooling vanes inside of them. Looks to me like a custom setup. Just get an off road Y-pipe and have a muffler shop connect it for You.
