Default Moser 9 inch Questions

I just ordered a moser 9 inch with a detroit locker and 35 spline axles. Just
wondered if there where any installation tips that i should know about. Its
going in an 01 ws6 six speed. Does the drive shaft need to be shorter?does
the full length adjustable torque arm have problems fitting? How assembled
is the 9 inch? Thanx for any input.

well my drive shaft worked but it was a little to short really the yoke was moved out a little on the out put shaft, still works but i had a custom made racing one made to fit BETTER and so i did not have to worry about breaking the stock one

I just installed mine today and everything fit good, I had to BFH mod the underside of the car a little to get the TQ arm to go up all the way, now the hard part starts, trying to get everything centered up. THe rearend is cocked back causing my springs to curve, and the whole rear is about two inches to the front , so now comes the part where all the adjustable stuff I installed comes into play. Also trying to get the brake lines back on so that they look good took me a while, and did I mention that getting everything adjusted is going to be a bitch.

The Moser 9 inch is meant to be a direct replacement. The driveshaft does not need to be shortened, and the rear should be centered in the chassis. If it is not, something is drastically wrong!
On lowered cars, you may need to do a little pursuading on the sheetmental of the floor. Bob

I think the stock driveshafts are a little short, but that maybe just for the older Mosers.

I would run an aftermarket driveshaft anyway.

The PST driveshafts (any length) that I sell are 3.5" aluminum, come with heavy duty 1350 U Joints, and are rated at 1200 hp. The driveshaft cost $399.99 plus shipping. Bob

I did a little write up the other day its in this section. "for those that are gonna buy a moser 9inch" might answer some of your questions.
