Default BIG POWER TURBO GUYS WITH M6's

I am looking to do a 408 with a high flow street killer turbo set up. Looking for little over 800rwhp on pump gas. as my car now I run a 4.11 gear. What gear are you guys running?? why should I go back down when I only run the 1/8th

You probably won't be able to shift fast enough to get a good time in the 8th with a high hp m6 and 4.11 gears. I'll be running 3.00s in my 9". Twin turbo m6.

you should go back down to like a 3.00 like said above. you will be shifting so fast it won't even be fun to drive, and you will be in like 5th or 6th in the 1/4 mile. you don't want to be going into 5th in the 1/4. 3.00 gets you better gas mileage and more streetable, and puts out good times.

what about launching???? how good will a high 700 low 800 rwhp car launch with a 3.00 gear and slicks at 6000 rpm and a two step???

I guess twice the power makes the car seam twice as light? car is heavy 3600lbs

3.00...3.23...3.42 would benefit you much more than 4.11's with a turbo.

I running a 4:10 gear with my turbo set-up only pushing 400rwhp and it does not give the turbo enough time to spool up. I recently picked up a moser 9" with a 350 gear - Defently will hope to feel a difference there

The lower numerical gear loads things up and lets the turbo spool. You will likely never see full boost in your first 3 gears with a 4.11 and an M6. That's giving away power.

I am interested in same question.
I have had cars with 3.73 and 4.10s and they were great but not turboed cars.
I was thinking 3.42 as still want it a bit peppy off boost and with lower compression and heavier car thought at least a 3.42 would work well.
And what about 3.73..still too high?
And fast turbo cars running 3.73s.They seemed to be excellent all around gear NA at any rate.

800hp on pump gas sounds like a good idea now, and its dooable, but you wont like it. Better invest in a boost controler to step power down on the street like the supra guys.

something else that no one pointed out.... Your car is gonna be a dog in the 1/8th cuz of the bottom side. From the 330' on it will be a rocket. If you want to run just the 1/8th, I'd go nitrous.

hey i got an idea, why dont you get the engine, get the turbo kit.. get it running and dialed in .. and THEN see how you like your gears... seems like you have more important things to be researching at this point.

the way i read it you are thinking about letting a $200 gear set influence a $15k purchase?

oh and i run a 3.42

Well I will have a boost controller BUT will only be driving this car with that motor when out to play or race so well see what setting it sits on.!!!!!!!!!
I will play with current gear before changing and it will not influence a big $$ purchase, but as of now this thread was just a question. thanks for the responses and I do plan on figuring it out my self but the more opinions, the more chances i get it rite.
