Default Ticking Noise Of Death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have this damn ticking noise ever since I had a new clutch put in. Like, any MPH over 30 and you can here a slight, metalic sounding ticking from the shifter area. As you go faster, the ticking speeds up and gets a little louder. Its getting annoying....any help?thought?suggestions?

Did you ever figure this out? I just replaced my clutch and flywheel and have a strong ticking coming through the shifter, primarily when I'm off the gas. I also think my right rear brake is sticking (would have just happened).

Wonder if they could be related...

you have a zip tie rubbing on the driveshaft. they hold the e-brake cables and it's very easy to get one stuck above the d/s when reinstalling it.

Hey, I was using the search function and the question was never answered. Must be a strong zip tie to make that kind of tick without ripping off.

I know, just giving you some crap.

Yes thay are strong, they are the style that is about 3/8" wide. When they tie them, they dont cut the excess strap off which is about 5" long...enough to rub on the d/s and click.

I checked and didn't see any. I found the ball joint in exhaust slightly touching the body. Fixed that, but I still have something metallic touching that I couldn't see in the right rear. Will have to dig into that nexts.

I believe the shifter ticking is coming from the shifter itself now. It is hit or miss when it happens and I think I feel a hint of play in the joint of the shifter.
