Default sequential?

what makes a transmission a sequential? I see porche has a tiptronic, lambo and ferrarri have paddle shifts, and any number of cars today, including pontiacs have manual shifting automatics. So what makes a transmission sequental, like race cars?

Default

The gears are all in order. If youve ever ridden a motorcycle dirtbike, or 4 wheeler, then you know what im talking about. In a car, you push the shift forward and it shifts up, pull it back and it shifts down. In mot race cars that have these, you dont have to use the clutch to upshift.
