Default WooHoo, Bought Me A 02 Trans Am WS6 Ram Air

Well a month ago I decided to start looking for an 02 Trans Am, I knew I wanted the Ram Air package and I really wanted the last years model(02).

so a couple weeks back I finally found the car of my dreams 02 Trans Am Black/Black WS6 Ram Air, A4, TCS, LOADED. and only has 593 miles !.

I'm so excited, I cannot wait till it arrives to my door.

But I won't bore you guys anymore and get on with my questions.

The car is basically brand new, so I would like to know what you guys would have done right off the hop when your car was new but didn't and waited later to do it.

I heard SFC's are a must, now does it matter which brand? I was thinking going with SLP's. Now I still have a years worth of bumper to bumper warranty left on the car, so does that matter if they are Bolt On or Weld On? which is better?

anything else you would recommend?

Thanks in Advance
Kevin.

I would get some 3-point sfc's and weld them... shock brace, boxed or tubular control arms, adjustable panhard bar and then think about some power....these will not void any warranty...sounds like a nice car...if you just want some sound, switch out the muffler to your choice, and maybe an electric exhaust cutout...

Sounds like you picked up a new baby for yourself! I would start out with a lid. 100 bucks and it is a very good mod being a first one. You don't necessarily need a new air filter though as the stock paper ones flow fine up untill somewhere in the 500bhp range. SLP, MTI, Whisper, a lid is a lid. A muffler/cat-back/cut-out always is a good way to let people hear how good the ls1 is as well! if you want some power upgrades start readin up on sticky's like this one!!!

Congrats, I got mine in late 05 with around 11k miles and i thought that was low
Anyway, cant go wrong with a lid, catback, sfc's, and stb for starters; thats what i got so far. about to get headers, and off road y-pipe soon.

Thanks for all the fast replies everyone!

I think I'm gonna start off with Sub Frame Connectors and Strut Tower Brace.

Does it matter if the SFC's are weld on or bolt on? which is better?

Also is 3 point the way to go for both?

I bought the car from Texas and should arrive at my door in a week or two, countin down the days haha. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Sounds like you found a nice ride. I found my 02 red WS6 A4 a year ago with 900 miles on it. It still had the plastic on the floor and was mint. It took me 6 months to find it but it was well worth it. I paid $22K for mine. What did you give for yours?

1. Good find, and holy-hell at the low miles!

2. The Smooth Bellows is quite possibly the worst $50 you can spend on an LS1, so don't listen to the guy above me LOL.

3. Lid + long tubes + ORY or catted Y(your choice) + catback(Magnaflow, Hooker, etc.) + UD pulley + ported TB + short stick=woohoo.

yeah, i felt good about my 2000 with 10,000 on it. but you kicked my ***. congrats man. id definitely do a lid first. and do a Cags eliminator (skip shift eliminator). so you dont have to deal with skipshift.

Nice! I'd get 2 point subframes, definately weld in and paint over the welds with some POR 15.
