Default hotcam with auto, please help

I am installing a lt4 hotcam kit in a 94 z-28 which is stock except for mid length headers. Will this cam work with the stock torque and be reliable and not completely kill my fuel mileage. And will i need to get the processor tuned and if so who could i get to do it.

really to make that cam work you're going to need some gears and a good stall. Prolly would be wise to get a tune.

From your question sounds like you need to do more reading. you do realize there are other cams out there LOTS of other cams many of which are easily argued better from a number of perspectives.

The HOT cams popularity is a vicious cycle of ignorance. Not that it can't work but that early on it was about the only choice and GM markets it so it became popular with anyone who failed to do much research, that popularity leads newcomers to believe it is that great so more a lured in and the cycle keeps spinning out of control. It's popularity is not based on performance but rather numbers and price.

I have the hotcam kit in my wifes car. gears? thats up to you, personal choice. The stock torque convertor works ok. but you do have to get the computer tuned , if you don't the car will load up(run rich) I had mine done through www.PCMforless.com the difference was daylight and dark on the throttle response. Gas mileage will suffer some but that also depends on your driving habits..lol..........hope this helps you some

Mine has the Cam, 1.6 RR, a nice custom tune by GM, stock stall with 3.73's, and a tuned in shift kit. I wouldn't argue with it....
