Default Hydraulic line into Mcleoud master...

I've got a McLeoud adjustable master, installed in my car. I've got the hydraulic line from the stock master in my hand, with the little O-ring in its groove on the fitting. IT WONT GO IN!. it needs to go in another 1/8 of an inch. If I remove the o-ring, it fits in nicely. I tried stuffing the o-ring into the master block thing, then poking the line in, no dice. it just comes out with the o-ring in place again. There's something simple and stupid i'm missing, im hoping someone can fill me in..
thanks in advance.

I really didn't have any issues with mine. You try pushing it in hard enough? Not sure why the O-ring would hold it up, hmmm!

Is there a possibility that there's already an o-ring in there? I poked around with the punch i used for the roll pin, felt only metal. It stops in the proper place if i push it in with no "O" ring, feels fine. With the oring, as hard as I push, it's still 1/8 of an inch out too far.
