Default Summit/Jegs X-pipe?

Will the "universal" x-pipe kits in Summit Racing and/or Jegs fit our cars??? I cant get my mind off true duals......even though I shouldnt do it, I really want to. I noticed how much cheaper the Summit/Jegs pipes are compared to the TSP/Dr. Gas pipes.....so I'm hoping I can save money by going with Summit or Jegs.....or maybe you guys can suggest something cheaper?
-Oh...Think I can put Cats on an X-pipe and pass smog with bolt ons????
(obviously I will fail the visual inspection....but I want to know if I can pass the sniffer and maybe they'll let me off, for at least having Cats)
Thanks guys!

We got a 3" Summit 'X' recently for a C4 race car. It's going to take some shoehorning to fit it in the tunnel, but it's a nicely built piece. The welds and internal appearance (dingleberries, joint alignment, etc.) are better than the stainless one we got from a site sponsor for our C5 racer.
