Headlight question for trans am

Default Headlight question for trans am

I got a 98 trans am and when i go to turn the parking lights on the head light flip up. they arent on but they flip up. so in order to ride around with the marker lights and fog lights on only. the headlight come up. any one know what the deal is?

Ya i have the exact same problem with my 99 it started when the headlight motor started to grind i was told the motor grinding can cause the running light-headlight up problem one of your motors might be on the way out.

Yup, you have a head light motor that is wearing out. You can either flip the plastic gears inside the motor and buy replacement brass gears. Those are the two fixed most people do...I guess you could also buy replacement plastic gears, but most people just go with the brass.

Yep that sounds right cause my headlights are already starting to grind on both sides. But you say you can flip the gears as a temporary fix?
