Default What Kind of Power Can I Expect

Im gonna be putting in a 346 forged motor with 6 liter heads, Z06 cam and a compression of 8.9:1 Im also running an STS kit with 5 1/2 lbs of boost. With a good tune and only what ive listed what kind of power should i expect on a 02 Z28. Im not running any cooling system yet for the STS kit.

With the forged motor and lower compression why only 5.5lbs of boost? I assume that since your forging your motor, you have a fuel system set up for boost. The forged motor itself is not going to gain you any power but will allow you to gain power by raising your boost. Another thing is if you start at stock compression 10.1 with 5.5lbs of boost and lower your compression to 8.9 and stay at the same boost, you are actually loosing power.
In other words you need to raise the boost to see any gain in power.

I would get a front mount and turn the boost way up....otherwise as stated above, you'll be losing power

Why pay all that money for a forged motor and 6L heads if your not gonna use them for what they are designed for?

I have a feeling he mis-typed this post. Clarification?

Yeah, with no cooling (intercooler or intercooler+meth), I'd only be running 5.5 psi, too.

With that compression and boost the car will make less hp than a stock car with a STS.Do the intercooler/fuelling and you could gain 150-200rwhp.
