OK Doug or Steve or ______, what is your agent's name? I tried going thru Allstate. Made the mistake of telling them how much HP "I think" the car has now. So I need to talk to your guy & try it again, only with modesty this time.

Also, when we insured our cars since the Vette isn't the main daily driver the rate was cheaper because of the wifes Jetta being stated as the main vehicle on the policy.

Don't get me wrong guys, Allstate DOES still insure the car. No problems there. But I was trying to get the "agreed on value" insurance that only Haggerty offers. So if it did get stolen, I'd get more than $15-20k for it.
But they said the car is too new, so they asked if it was modified. Um, yeah, a little, how else would I qualify for $40k....and then they asked for the hp. More than double the stock # was too much for them. :eyes:
I know Steve &/or Doug has this coverage already.

Hey Mark (or anyone that knows)
Will that insurance cover someone if they accidentally slam their car into the wall at PR or anywhere? I know "regular" insurance usually won't cover you if you smash a car up at the track.......

Yep and in town for me.
They represent quite a few different companies that will insure for far less at actual value. There is at least one company Tom deals with that will insure track wall vs car incidences though its freaking expensive. Might as well just have enough to fix/buy another car for the rates. Its always worth calling him because your 'previous employment' might give you a break on the rates???

Was that for me Amy? I don't want/need track insurance, I was just thinking outloud.......or typing outloud....or something like that. ;)
But thanks. :)

They do not cover Racing. And you do have limited usage. No to and from work, No errands. It is limited but you pay alot less than covering it through a regular policy.

Can you get insurance that covers racing? At a reasonable rate............not like $1000 per month, but somewhat reasonable?

I talked to Steves contact, and for a little over $500 / year I can get $40k of agreed on value ins, $0 deductible, $300k liability, yada yada yada. Basically about 1/2 what Allstate or any 'normal' insurance co would charge. Only snag is we can't drive the car to work.
Jon - nobody that I found offers insurance that covers you for racing. And I've asked. (other than Lloyds of London)

How old were you? Was it your fault? Was it in a "sports car"? Did you have any ticket prior to that crash? Was it a high dollar payout (damage/total/medical costs)??

Haggerty is a Classic/Special Intrerest Auto insurance Same with Grundy They only insure cars that are going be used for shows or are classic or stuff like that. they dont want you driving them Daily because of something could happen. Also they require your car be in a locked garage.
We have Grundy for our 67 C-10 pick up & the 95 Z, Soon to have it with the 72 buick & maybe the 99 Camaro
