Default governer in 99 z28?

whats up guys

i dont know if im in the right forum but i recently purchased a 99 z28 and during hard acceleration at around 115 mph the car seems to cut out just like the car had a governer. im stumped any help from you guys would help alot.

If the car came with the Goodyear Eagle RSAs, then you have a governor at 118 mph. If it came with the GSCs, your governor is at 162. Do you know which tires your car originally came with?

the advanced tech is not the right forum, please read the headings before you post.

look on the plate under the RPO sticker, it will list the OEM tire, non zrated are limited to 118 as RussStang stated above. you can also look at the RPO code Qxx, dont remember off hand, check the FAQ.

thanks guys i looked at my RPO and it said my OEM tires were 235/55R/16 does that sound right? and can i bring it into any shop and have the govener removed or do i have to bring it to a special shop? cause it really sucks i cant even hit 5th gear it cuts off before 5th let me know thanks guys.

also while i am here my 4th gear and 6th gear grind sometimes why is that?

I had reached 125 I was still climbing. That was in my 99 Z. I'm going to see if i can find something.

the clutch grinds when the clutch is all the way in does this have something to do with the slave cylinder maybe?
