Congrats on finding them so much cheaper.

May I ask a stupid No0b question and find out what you need them for? Or more accurately, what do they do that "normal" tools don't?

I mean, the only things I recall from back in the day as "special" tools from GM were the 3rd gen spark plug wrenches that snaked into the ugliness that is a 3rd Gen engine compartment so you didn't have to find a 10 yr old kid to reach in and remove your plugs for you.

I have been trying forever to come up with that kit. I just dont understand why they are so damn expensive. Having one of those around REALLY makes working on these motors easier.

Oh okay. I just haven't encountered a job that I couldn't do on my car yet and I've had it apart everywhere you can imagine for little ****. What tools make life easier in that kit? Hell 500 bucks is a new set of tires and gas.

Everytime you pull it off.....or break it, buy a new one & THEN get the tools.

Wow, I guess I got lucky then, cause I pulled mine out to drill and tap it, just threw it back on... no leaks that I've ever seen.

Its not that it'll leak so much as it is worrying about torquing that bell housing down. Not that anyone around here has ever broken one in that way... I just read it on the internet... in the dyno section or somewhere

Ellis has become quite familiar with that tool lol I lost count of how many times he told me he had to R&R the pan on the old t/a.
