Default thinking of iForged Aeros.....questions

thinking of taking the plunge and getting a set of chromed 3 piece 18x10 iForged Aero's on all 4 corners. I just don't know what offset to get....anybody have any ideas? I have a set of 18x9.5 ZO6 rims currently and they are +54mm o/s. I know I can't go much further "in" or the tire will rub my inner fender well under hard cornering.

I just want to get a lighter weight rim, as it seems like the mosr cost effective rims all weigh quite a bit more that factory rims. An 18x10 Aero weights in at 23lbs....which is quite light I think.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Paul

All you have to do is call iForged and tell them what car you have. They will know the proper offsets and backspacings. You can also order them in 2pc to save on some costs. They look identical to the 3pc wheels.

I'm waiting on my Aero's. Ordered them on 1/28/06 but, had them painted black on the spokes. 9.5 in front was the widest that Vince (totally great guy to talk to) recommended. Wider than stock so I'm happy. Note I wanted to go bigger in front due to 345/335/18 on back, I was intending on going as wide as possible. 275-285 front???

Yeah, Vince is the owner of iForged. He's an awesome guy, and will do you good every time.

He gave me a steal on my first set of iForged wheels. Now I'm going back for two mroe sets in 18", and then a set in 19".

Talk to Vince, and like Tony stated, He'll take care of the offsets. Came out great on my TA.

I went with 18x9s up front, 18x10s out back on my Senekas. I'm shortening my rear, and going big on the lip this time around.

Take plunge man, do it!

thanks guys....
I talked to Vince (seemed to be a bit quiet, maybe he was in a bad mood...lol) and he recomended I run a 18x11 rear and 18x9.5 front. He said that all the same size rims would look "wierd". I didn't think a 11" wide rim would even fit on the back of our cars without rubbing like mad.....

has anybody ran an iForged 11" rear?? Have any rubbing problems?? I don't want to be cutting the fender lip on my car and having to do so doesn't mean proper fitment in my opinion.

You are going to have to roll or cut the fender lip. 18s with my 295/35/18 fit my car at stock height. Now that I'm lowered they don't fit. And pretty much no nice sized 18" wheel is going to. My 18x10s fit fine, no rubbing. Now that I'm lowered over 2" things are another story.

Rolling the fender lip isn't a big deal. But that's how it is with these cars. Want a big wheel/tire under there? Be prepared to get a hammer and a fender roller. These cars were designed for a 275mm wide tire. I'm sure they had no inentions of over engineering a damn thing on these cars.

Quite a few guys run 11" wide ZR1 wheels with 315 wide tires. You have to roll the fender lips and hammer the inner fender if your car is lowered. You can fit a 295 tire on a 10" wide wheel without much hassle unless your car is slammed. My 295s only rub if someone is sitting in the back with a full tank of gas, and my car is lowered 1.5 inches.
