I was in your boat exactly- hoping for a Z28 or an SS, found 2 great deals on SS's that disappeared before I had convinced my parents to let me get one. I ended up with a Firebird (TA) and never looked back!
I wasn't exactly lucky enough to get it as my first car though, I drove a 97 corolla for over a year till I could afford half of my car, my parents chipped in the other bit.
Congrats and enjoy it. Also, don't let anyone tell you a 16 year old can't drive a V8! But please do be careful.

I have already been told that I shouldn't be driving a V8, LOL.... All we have at our house is v8's on one 4 cylinder, but this F body will be different. I know what they feel like, i've driven an LT1, and I can't mess up with this car its going to be babied for some time, my dad even told me no street racing at all, so yeah. But I'm excited I will post pics next week when I get it. Btw it is an A4.

man, I was the sameway when I first got my license... I was all like "I can control myself.... I won't ever race.... but man... once you get comfortable with the car... you can't help yourself.... just don't be dumb man.... you are so young.... and whatever you do now, goes on your PERMANENT RECORD and when you are paying out the *** for insurance, and I know your parents might pay for your insurance now, but when you are 24 and on your own... it sux.... fortunately out of the 8 times I've been pulled over, I've managed to talk my way out of it every single time
