SES light problems
Well been getting a SES light on and off for about a 1000 miles now. I just installed headers and a MAFT before this. I think I may know the answer to one of the problems but wanted to get your guys input.
The following SES codes:
P0404 - EGR Flow CKT Range/perf.
P0103 - MAF or VAF Circuit high input
The first code I think is a leak on the EGR tube where it meets my header because I reused the stock EGR gaskets. I bought a new AIR gasket but tried reusing the EGR. I know just spend the couple of buck and get a new one. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
The other code I have no idea what would cause it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Why didn't you bypass the EGR when you installed the headers? Install a block off plate. Cut some foam K&N filter material to the length and size of the inlet tube to the EGR valve. Shove the filter material up into the tube. Delete the code. DONE! A header install shouldn't case a MAF code since you don't touch the MAF while installing the headers or did you?

Re: SES light problems
I would have deleted the EGR and AIR but dont have LS1 Edit. Also I installed MAFT at the same time as the headers.
Still not sure why the MAF code though. I checked the connections and they are all plugged in tightly. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: SES light problems
I triple checked the connections. I know I plugged it in corretly because if you plug in wrong it can cause a hell of alot of problems. I also know that I plugged in correctly because the light comes and goes.
The SES light has never been on constantly just comes and goes. It also doesnt just come on when doing a WOT run either. I can just be cruising down the interstate and the light comes on. 3 engine cycles later it goes away and then comes back a couple days later.
Also I know that the header install did not cause the MAF code just trying to get two problems killed with one post. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: SES light problems
You may try one of the 2 followings:
1. Set both base and WOT to 0 (if you have done so).
or
2. Remove MAFT. If maf code comes back, it looks like MAF issue. Otherwise, it is MAFT problem. What version is the MAFT, anyway?
Happy troubleshooting, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: SES light problems
Not sure what version the MAFT is. How do you tell the version? Ill probably just turn down the richness at WOT and try again.
As for the EGR problem anyone else got any suggestions? <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
