New Cam (Large) and now P0106.. anyone got any ideas?
DTC P0106 is MAP performance error. Basically, the system looks up expected airflows based upon load (MAP) and RPM's.. if out of sync, failure.
My cam is pretty big (600+ lift, 252 duration) and I'm wondering if the overlap is interfering.
If you've had this occur to you, what did you find to be the root cause and what did you do to fix it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

This sounds similar to the P1514 TAC System MAF Performance code. Do you get the same reduced engine power repsonse? Have you tried adjusting the P1514 table? Do the FI guys ever see this or is it always the MAF error first for them?

Check your flash screen for when this code was set. If the code is setting at idle RPM, then you may be able to take your idle ALOT higher to alleviate this code.
With that much duration and lift, you are going to have goofed up MAP readings at lower RPM due to intake reversion. Raise your RPM to try and get out of this area.
Good Luck,
Kevin

I just killed the code altogether. This cam is a BITCH to start when the engine is warm.. that is when the code sets..

Re: New Cam (Large) and now P0106.. anyone got any ideas?
The LSA is 112, the Centerline is ground at 108.
I have tuned nearly 200 LS1's with LS1Edit.. so killing the code was not the issue.. I had just wondered if anyone had experienced the 106 code.. I never did before this cam.
The worst problem right now is the warm starting problem..

We have tried to keep the lift lower to steer clear of some of the air/performance codes (amongst other things) that these size cams can throw.
As for the warm start problem......
You just have to babysit it for a bit before it gets its feet. Getting the idle cranked up and setting the IAT properly will help speed up this process.
Enjoy the big cams <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: New Cam (Large) and now P0106.. anyone got any ideas?
My car is throwing this code as well...I installed a 228/230 .573 .571 112lsa comp cam and it has thrown this code ever since. Anyone have any more information about this? What should the range be when autotapping the car and monitoring the map sensor reading...yesterday i was seeing ~27 at idle...is this high or low? I can't remember the calculation autotap was using but it was not changed...i think it was gph?
