Default Are edit updates worth the cost?

A buddy and I are looking to get edit and we're curious if the year updates are worth the extra $100. With 6 months already free I kinda doubt it is but figured it was worth asking here. Our cars are both 98's if that matters.

not that i am out to screw carputing, they have a great product and i paid the $550 to use it on my vehicle but i have 'borrowed' an update from a friend and it loaded right up. i don't think you would have any trouble geting copies of the update files from other people when they come out.

Yes a buddy and I are planning on doing our own tuning. He's building a solid roller stock cubed setup. I finally got my motor pulled yesterday and with any luck ARE will have my block done soon. It's been 2 months and it's still not here.
