Chrome moly or steel?
Get back to us and let us know what they will do for ya... I am in the same boat about to order a BMR member, but I have heard of this happening on the street so maybe I will hang out to see if they back it up?
I'm pulling for ya....

Yeah I shot UMI a E-Mail a while back and they said come spring they should have a K-Member released. I don't think they have notified anyone here on ls1tech yet. I hope it does come out on time, I rather not have a mix of vendors with my suspension and chassis parts.

I've sold and installed quite a few BMR K members, and I have never had a problem with them. I have one on my own Z28, and we have one on my brother's '95 Formula. I would say it is a fluke. Bob

Race your car!

I just ordered a tq arm and loop from BMR, they were good to deal with, I'm sure that they will take care of you.
I am personally gonna do a K member probably next year, and this is the only concern that I have about doing it, I have heard of a couple people breaking them, but I look at it like this.. it's a race orientated part, not meant for daily use, and not meant to withstand choppy roads etc.etc.... so if you use it for that, you are taking a risk. I still street drive my car, but am very careful not to hit potholes, and whatnot, with these types of parts on a car, you have to be extra careful.
My guess that thing got seriously stressed by hitting a couple big potholes at one point or another, it takes alot fo breask something like that.

May of this year (release of K-Member)
We have a very nice unique design that will with stand both street driving and drag racing as well as possibly road race as soon as some more testing is completed

I'd be more intrested to see what it weigh's compared to the others... for street guys it's probably good, but if it only saves 12 lbs over the stock one, I don't thin kit's gonna sell too good. the reason teh BMR and the others ike it sell well is because for 500 bucks you drop 30 lbs of weight off the car..... if the umi one is heavier then the bmr and others.. it better be cheaper as well, because 99.9% of the people that do the swap are doing it for weight savings. If it's 1/2 the weight savings of a bmr, then about 1/2 the cost would make sense by my math. Not trying to bash, just trying to make a point.

It probably didn't break pulling out of Sonic. It probably broke on the last big pothole that you hit and just finally failed when you were pulling out. We always try and discourage people from driving these kinds of parts on the street. You are taking a "race" part and subjecting it to stresses that it was not designed to take so sometimes you pay the price. I have a BMR K-member on my car that I do drive on the street on occasion but it far from a DD.
