search is your major friend on this one. I think generally youll find the "it sucks" opinion just about anywhere. The best youll get is "eh it was ok for a little while". Ive heard some say its an ok FI kit to start on because you can piece one togethor or buy used complete for $1K-1500. but most 6psi cars make less than 380hp. There was a rear mount ls1 gto here that just made 460rwhp last week on 6psi. So id say you may as well just go with a cam. Youll spend the same $$ and probly make more power.

I actually had a powerdyne for my 97 Mustang GT. I can honestly say that I've had no problems with it. I did buy it because of the cheap price and didn't do much investigative work. After searching though I found a lot of people didn't like it. The internal "silent drive" belts kept slipping and the bearings kept failing, oh, and customer support wasn't good either. I must have just gotten lucky though, like I said, no problems and the install with parts and pieces in the kit was easy and complete. With my Z though, I'm trying for a twin screw. Hopefully I'll be able to get something together this summer.

What's even worse is that 98% of the people posting on forums about how Powerdynes suck, have never had actual experience with them, but are only repeating what they've seen posted on message forums.
I'm not sure what that tells you
I guess try to keep that in mind and look a little deeper for facts beyond the generic "they suck" posts.

They have their issues, but aren't as bad as everyone else makes them seem. (White2001s10 hit it on the head)
Now, with that kind of cash, I'd look at 3 options.
1.) Save up some more money and get a Procharger kit.
2.) Buy a used Powerdyne kit and give it a shot. (they sell for like 1K-1.5K used)
3.)Yes I'm saying it, buy an STS kit for the same amount of money.
