Question 2004 Lq4 4l60e 4x4 Transfer Case Removal

I have a chance to buy a 2004 LQ4 Vortec 6000 engine and 4L60E auto which has the 4x4 transfer case on it.
i wish to remove the transfer case and install a stock tailshaft housing.
What problems with the PCM program will I have, and is it actually able to be done. The vendor (as always) says "no sweat", but I thought I would check here on the forum, first.
The other option I have is to adapt a Turbo 400 with a Gear vendor O/Drive.
What do you guys think?

The output shaft is going to have to be changed and possiably the shifter linkage. Not sure about the bell because some of those units the starter was in a different location. I'm not sure. Good luck!
