Default Predator Tuning Question??

i am new with the predator and want to know the quickest way to improve my hp. I heard about increasing spark advance by 2 degrees and lean it out by 2-3% percent. Any problems with this senario on a 2002 Z28 M6 with mainly bolt ons. And any other info would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

Default Re: Predator Tuning Question??

The only HP gains you can get with the predator involve Spark Advance, WOT enrichment, and knock retard.
Basically, set your spark advance all the way to ten, then make a few WOT runs. (1)If you get KR then you need to reduce the spark advance until it goes away.
(2)If you are getting less than about 1.0 KR, then you can start to reduce your WOT enrichment step by step towards the negative side. After you adjust the enrichment, take a few more WOT runs and monitor your KR. If you still have very little KR then keep dialing your enrichment toward the negative side. Once you start getting 2-3 degrees of KR, you need to go back positive a step or two on your enrichment.

Ideally, you will have +10% spark advance, a few percent negative on the Enrichment, and little or no KR. Depending on how your car normally runs, the predator can advance your timing by 2-4 degrees. This can equate to maybe 5-12 HP depending on your mods and how well the car runs.
Autotap is a big help.
