Default Cylinder #8 misfire after B1 cam install, please help

Hi Guys,

My brother's 99 TA has 64K miles and we changed the plugs 1 month to NGK TR-55's gapped @ .055 and changed the fuel filter as well. I had a MTI B1 cam put in it 221/221 .558/.558 114lsa and brand new 2002 LS6 cam springs with stock retainers and stock pushrods and it has a P0308 cylinder 8 misfire code now. I know cams usually cause a P0300 random misfire code but this one is specific to one cylinder.

Any ideas on what to look for guys?

Thanks

Default Re: Cylinder #8 misfire after B1 cam install, please help

just make sure the coil pack and plug wire is on tight. Also make sure you put the #8 plug back in. Since its in the very back sometimes it might seem like its snug, but its not.

try loggin your misfire current history. If you are getting some crazy number like over 20ish then its a problem on #8

it might just be readin normal misfires from the cam and thats the #cyl is reads?
