I know it can be done, now what are the downsides of using 1.7's?

Can I get taller valve covers? I have heard they will clear fine but need input (help) in making a decision. For the money I figure I might as well use 1.7's if they will work because they should get me more power.

Next Question: Will any 1.7 rr work as long as it is for a big block or small block chevy? Can I use LS1 roller rockers?

With new rr's do I have to upgrade anything else? My car only has 70k.

If you go too big with the lift, and not big enough ports in the heads, you can hurt performance. You might have the cabability, but you can only get soo much in to the cylinder. 1.6 RR work real well.

Depending on the cam 1.7s can work quite well stock cam they will. You WANT to lift the valve past the heads peak flow in doing this you can get the valve to spend more time around peak than if it was just barely lifted too that point. You need smallblock gen1/2 rockers and you HAVE TO do the springs at the same time along with rocker studs and guideplate because I know of no SA 1.7s

1.7 RR's will not fit in the stock valve covers unless your dremmel the ***** out of the inside, took me about an hour to do.
