I have broken a hanger on one of my tail pipes and i want to take this opportuinty to make a change. I want to cut off my exhaust after the cat and just run duals dumped before the axle until I can upgrade the headers as well, next year possibly.

Should I keep the cats and loose the muffler or get rid of both a fab an H pipe with turndowns?

I'm not out for performance...just a louder exhaust (no muffler)

Should I or should I not?

Keep the cats...It will sound terrible without them. You will have a really poppy/raspy exhaust.
