Default No one makes the exhaust I want?

All I want is a simple 3" (or 3.5") single exit cat-back! It would have a tranverse mounted muffler, true bolt on installation, no clearance issues, and it must be all stainless steel and flow well, but not be too loud.

The Mufflex single exit system comes close to what I want, but the pipes, if I'm not mistaken, are not stainless steel, and I think their mufflers are louder than I'd like.

Give me a Bassani, Magnaflow, Corsa, or Borla, but with a SINGLE EXIT!

Thank you.

SLP 2OTL is what you are describing. It is actually a pretty bad *** catback if you dont mind just exit on one side.

This is what you want...

If you can live without stainless steel, dynomax makes a 3" aluminized steel ipipe. You can buy it from Summit for $100. Then you can run pretty much any muffler you want. If you want good flow thats somewhat quiet use the biggest 3" magnaflow or ultraflo muffler.

That is exactly what you want plus the 2OTL isnt loud or obnoxious, its quieter than msot all other catbacks and it sounds real clean and throaty.

We actually get a lot of requests for a "hidden" single exit for the V8 ... mostly from Camaro (Not Firebirds.)

I will be designing a 3.5" inlet/ outlet system with a single 3.5" CORE muffler and exiting with a turndown on the drivers side. This will be a race oreinted system with a more agressive note but will not drive you nuts with in cab noise or resonance. This will be for maximum weight savings as well and comes complete to market as all other MagnaFlow products with stainless steel, mandrel bent tubing and a lifetime warranty.

I did it cuz I think most catbacks are too loud and too expensive. Most of the tips look ghey anyway. I think the flowmaster looks the best but is the most restrictive.

Believe it or not the single tip is stealthy to those who are ignorant about cars. Ive had people insist that my car is a v6 camaro. Even after they hear it run with the cam.

Exlcellent info!

I had overlooked the SLP system. It may just fill the bill.

Or maybe I should just get a cut out and wait for the stainless steel Magnaflow system. 3.5" may be overkill now, but later on with FI....

And the Dynomax 3" pipe for $100 from Summit. That could be a very cost effective route to get darn close to the system I want. Add a SS 3"elbow pipe - $32, a stealthy SS turndown tip - $30, a 3" SS muffler - $100, some 3" SS band clamps - $11 ea. Total cost would be only around $300. Not bad!

Why single exit? What GM has done with the f-body cat back would've been laughable to old school guys. There's some unecessary parts under there. It's a fake duel exhaust. As far as effecting performance, the stock config is not far off from hanging a dummy tip on your bumper and calling it duel exhaust.

That's JMHO

I see there's a second pipe (over-the-axle portion) involved with the Dynomax pipe set up - add $58.

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...9&autoview=sku

Now it's getting close to the cost of the SLP system, which is ALL stainless steel.....hmmm

Yeah, theres 2 pipes you have to buy. They were each $50, so both together $100.

The SLP 2OTL is probably what you want.

If he's concerned about the looks of the system, he does NOT want the 2OTL setup. I have it and love everything about it except the looks!! Those long, shiny 5.0 Mustang pipes just don't do it for me. I'd rather have the sound and power of the 2OTL system with a tucked up, big single turndown made out of all brushed (NOT polished) 304 stainless. The system that oxidizr is proposing sounds cool. I would consider that when it's out.

I think the pipes on the 2otl are actually pretty subtle.

Why not try to dig up a '98 single exit factory ss exhaust? Don't know for sure but those supposedly flowed pretty well.

It looks like the pipes are separate (look in intermediate pipe section)

Yeah, Dynomax changed their website. I cant find the part numbers for the ipipe and over the axle pipe. They were each around $50 a piece, so it was around $100 for the pipes plus $75 for the muffler.

OK you were right all along. The part I was looking at was incorrect . I found the correct Dynomax part numbers. They are 54064 and 53061 ($47.99 and $58.39 from Summit).

I noticed that LM Performance's website shows SLP "i" and "over axle" pipes. But I can't tell if they are 3" stainless.
