kdws, best bang for the buck. If you can get some nittos for a good price, then I would get them. the 712's are not to bad considering the price.

I am looking at the Toyo T1-S. They seem to be a really good bang for the buck tire.

I have KDWs on my car. This is my second set. The first was on my '86 IROC. Good tires that perform well. I had the Kumho ASXs on my Z28. I also had the Kumho 712's on my IROC. I don't ever see any other Kumhos in my future.

FWIW, I've heard some good things on this site about the G-Force Sports as well.

I have the Kuhmo Ecsta 712's on my 1991 Camaro. I don't really like them that much. They don't get really good straight line traction. They do wear very well, I have 20,000 on them and they still have good tread.Size is 245-50-16

On my 1994 Formula I have Dunlop SP8080's and love them. Great all around traction and they were a great price. I bought them off ebay for $600 Delivered (all 4) The size is 275-35-18.

What tires you should get would depend on your needs. Do you drive the car in the snow? Do you drive it in the rain? Do you street race? Do you plan on using the tires at the drag strip? How long do you want the tires to last?

If you answer those questions I can give you my best reccomendation.

Take a look at these. They are a decent price, and supposed to be excellent tires. They are $500 (set of 4) Plus shipping (reasonable rates).

Hope this helps.

I have Yokohama AVS ES100s. 275/40/17s $135 a piece. I love em. They look good and I've thrown em around in the curves. Did decent at the strip for a street tire too.

do not get sumitomo... I made that mistake. the reviews make them out to be ok tires but they will never ride smooth. FYI I immediately returned them for Kumho 712s... probly not much better but we shall see.

I know lots of people don't care about this but I just have something against Japanese tires on an American muscle car. I've done it and I've had friends that have done it and we seemed to agree, it's just not right...

Of course, BFG isn't an American manufacturer any longer, but at least it was and manufactures here...

Don't ride smooth????????. you bought an f-body for ride quality? may be you should get a family car then. i don't know of any sports car that rides smooth. sure its wasn't the ballancing or just the road? because i have a set just as good as my kdws. rides like a sports car should and handles well.

Yes it was because of balance and quality of the tires. even after balancing twice they still produced vibration. the new kumhos do not.
