top bolt on 4l60E
How the hell do you get the very top middle bolt on a 4L60E? I can't even see the thing, much less get close to fitting my hands up in there. I got 7 bolts so far and now its just the top middle one.

Thats how I got the top left one, the gussets that add strength to the bell housing lead the socket right on to the bolt head, but the top middle one is raised up from the bell housing so I can't get the socket on it from the rear.

If I remember correctly, I had the swivel on the end of it as stated above as well.

I got it off using a 24 inch ext with a wobble socket...When putting back the top bolt easiest way is to put some RTV in the socket then put the bolt in the socket..so the bolt won't fall off the socket when trying to get it back into the top hole

Just put a jack and a piece of wood under the k-member and lower the motor a few inches. I do this when I pull my TH400 in and out and it makes getting to the bolts a ton easier. I have an especially hard time since I am using the CSI shield.

I got all I had to do was loosen the exhaust clamp, it was keeping the tranny from droping down all the way. Thanks for your immediate response, now I have to worry about getting the bolt back in.
