Why you gotta tease with that picture of the aluminum LT1.
Also, there is quite a few LT1's running 60 over. It will run a tad hotter, water and oil temp. But no biggie.

let me clarify... the block was once built before and at a .040 over. the block since then has had some dirt scores but nothing deep. it needs bored again to get proper oil usage and such. it can clean up at 4.045-4.050 but i'd have to get custom pistons made for the block. if i can't get custom pistons, i have to go .060 over and get .060 over pistons. sorry for the confusion.

I had to go 60 over and mine was fine,no heat issues. My car also sees a 300-400 shot.

Speed Pro offers .080" pistons

.060" you will be fine just run a good cooling system.

the block can clean up at .045 but i will need custom pistons. looks like about 800 for pistons, rings and pins for this 4.045 bore. any thoughts?

it's going to cost me 500 more to get custom pistons, but do you think it'll be worth it since i know i wont have cooling issues or bolt caving possibilites?

No. There are plenty of people running that bore size, and any competent shop will check it for you.
