HELP! Trashed my paint.....
Tried to get out some swirlies in the black paint on my '98 and it now looks like I wetsanded the sucker! I used 3M swirl mark remover and an 8" buffer. I tried polishing the paint, but no luck, the marks won't go away. Anything short of a paintjob going to help? Thanks guys!

Dang! What did you use to do that?
I've removed 1500 grit wet sand marks with Menzerna Intensive Polish, an orange pad and my Porter Cable. I'd try that first, but you might still end up having to call a pro.

I've seen that look on paint before ... usually after I've wet sanded it with 1800 grit. Go to a decent auto parts store and ask for 3M Perfect-it II Rubbing Compound, Fine Cut. Part number 39002.
It looks as if you've only scuffed the clear ... if it were base coat it would be a lot darker (clear always apears white, if it's been scratched/scuffed)
I estimate about 10 minutes of decent rubbing she'll be as good as new! (actually, it's be more shiney!)

You got rid of some Orange peel there.. You need to get rid of the walmart waxer. and get a real buffer and polish it smooth.. that buffer will not give you the speed/power needed to finsh the polishing.. Anway I would go here
Autopia.org or detailcity.com and find a pro from there in your area to help you out and there is tons of info there..
