a 3" or 4" 3 prong puller is all you need.

make sure the puller has a flat end on it. not the ones with the pointy end to try and center on the bolt hole.

Have a store locally, was on sale for 16.99! Have not used them yet.
Swapping my balancer in a couple days. Will let you know how it goes.

Just did mine. The Harbor Freight ones were junk. Broke a bolt off one arm.
I went to AutoZone and they had the same one as the ebay one FREE Loaner.
It worked great but their was only two rods, One was too short & was too long.
So I used the short one & 3 inch socket extension which worked fine.
But needed to use another ext. to get it out of the crank (got worried a little)
The new pulley was a bitch to get on without a tool. Had to beat it with a rubber
mallet and push with a small piece of 2x4 to get the bolt started.

That puller works great!!
I work at a chevy dealership and that is the one we all use on Gen III engines
I reccomend getting it

That is the one I have. I have used it 3 times now works great, much better than monkeying around with a 3 jaw puller.

They are a pain in the butt . Yesterday matter of fact I broke one of those pullers that bolts right onto the balancer, i broke the bolt off . Bad thing was it wasn't mine. Another words, good thread that way I can get an idea of how much they cost and what kind to get for the guy and myself.

He said no problem. I asked him if their was insurance to buy, he said no????

Hm, I'm going to have to go over there and check it out . Seriously though, I do need to check it out because I need to get a balancer off for a friend. I wonder if they'll tell me the same thing or not.

I bought one that they have on a shelf at o'reilleys. I think H-D makes it or something like that. Works good and it seems like its pretty good quality.
