Default Royal Purple

I am going to switch from Mobil 1 to Royal Purple for engine and gear oil. What weight is recommended for the best performance? Also with gear oil is positive additive needed? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

John

Racing 41 is by far the best choice for the LS1 out of the Royal Purple lineup. Don't even consider an of their other oils (their 5w30 thins out way too fast for instance!)

Even though it's listed as a racing oil, it's perfectly safe to use on the street. I've seen people run it for 6000 miles and do an oil analysis and it's still got a strong TBN.
