Does anyone know how to remove the shift **** on an automatic? I am going to machine my own cooler looking one out of aluminum, and I am curious as to how i can take the old one off... Thanks in advance...

There is a small wire horseshoe shaped clip on the backside.(Dash side) It comes out with a small flat screwdriver.

Yes, pull the shifter back all the way to make it easier & pry the clip out with a screwdriver - **** will come straight off.

I'm not sure if the T/A is different from the Camaro, but for the Camaro you have to pull the button off the top, and then there is a small white plastic lock inside you have to remove. Turn it a 1/4 turn and it should come out. Then you can remove the clip and it should come out.
