F.A.S.T. bank/bank or sequential ?
What is the differance between the F.A.S.T. system bank/bank and sequential?
How do these work and how would one of these systems help a bored and stroked motor?
Is the F.A.S.T. system still considered EFI and will they be legal in the N vs S shootout? Thunder Shootout?
TIA

Re: F.A.S.T. bank/bank or sequential ?
Tom, how are you doing?
The bank to bank firing is the type of EFI on the 3rd gen cars. The sequential firing is the type of EFI on the LS1 cars.
Bank/bank means that all four injectors on one bank are opened on one crank turn, then the other bank of injectors are opened in next crank turn. In other words all four injectors are opened at the same time for cylinders 1 3 5 and 7,, followed by the pass side bank. This is why you can plug the injector connector to any of the four injectors on one bank, it makes no difference because all four will fire at the same time regardless of location.
Sequential injector firing is timed for each cylinder according to the position of the crank. Only one injector is opened at a time and its opened at the apropriate time. Each injector is fired once per two revolutions of the crank. Sequential firing is much more effecient than bank/bank firing.
Both are EFI systems with fuel injectors, knock sensors, temp sensor, oxygen sensor, etc and computer along with learning at part throotle.
I realize that this is not a very good explaination, but I hope that you get the idea.
