Pontiac GTO 2004-2006 - GTO oil light

My gf car has it on, i tried to reset it like 5 times says just push the gas pedal twice with the key in the on position and then turn it off and turn the car on and it will reset it... hasnt worked anyone else had a problem with it?

When you turn on the car depress the gas pedal three times within five seconds. That should clear it up for another 3,000 miles.

You posted that you pressed it twice...it's three times. Some owners manuals have a misprint.

true,
3 times,
and it's alot more than 3K miles,
I change my oil every 5K
I didn't reset it,
and it came on about the 8K mile mark
