guys with 19's or w/out
ok honestly i rly like the 19inch hpr5 but im scared i wont hook worth a **** on the street. they do have a 18 in wheel but it only comes in a 9.0 inch wheel which isnt that bad but i dont know how i will hook? also im torn b/w the hpr5, zr1's and the tt'2. i like the zr1 b/c i can go with 11's and same with the tt'2, although it seems that the tt'2 are overdone and dont look right unless you lower the car....so i guess what im asking is guys with 18's or 19's hows the ride and how do u hook on the street, and how big of a difference hooking will i see b/w the 9.0 and 9.5...and what the hell... what do u think would look better on my Z...its NBM paint...thanks!!

there is defintaly little or no difference between a 19 and a 18. the sidewall is too stiff to flex anyway so grip is totally based on the width and the compound of the tire. for street use it will suffice but dont plan on taking it to the track or trying o pick up street races. also high hp cars will get annoying without drag radials anyway

so rly the hpr5 and somehting like the privates are for show? and if i wanted a good rim/tire combo something like a zr1 or tt's 2 that looks good but is a 11 inch wide rim would be good for street races and everday messing around.....

I notice that while The C6 Z06 uses 19s in the rear The C6R uses 18s all around. Maybe that has something to due with regs, but I've heard 18 are the best tradeoff for weight, handling, traction etc., where roadwork is concerned.

I have 19x9's on my car w/ 275's in the back and I can drop the clutch at a little under 3k and launch pretty well. As far as ride quality..it's a little bit rougher then my stock 16's, but still a great ride.

As far as 18's go you can get drag radials for them so you will be able to hook up alright if you want to. I don't believe you can get a drag radial for 19's plus the fact that you will have very little sidewall with a 19 will hurt traction as well. The difference in the width of tire you can use between a 9-9.5 wheel in neglegiable your only talking about a 275 vs a 285 max not to mention width has a lot less to do with traction than sidewall flex and tire compound. If you like the 19's get them. Personally of the choices you have I would go with the HPR5's in 19's because they look so good and arent played out yet. If traction is a big issue just keep a couple of your stock wheels and have sticky tires on them for when you want to run at the track .

You really cant go much higher that 275 on either. you could get a 285 I beleive on the 9.5, but thats about it. 285-275 is only 10 mm, hardly worth the lil bit. Dont be fooled by the 9's, basically do yah athe same thing as the 9.5's

I found out after I ordered them they discontinued the color i was looking at. I think I am having to change colors now one them. HYper Silver Dark has been discontinued and the Gunmetal does not come in our Bolt pattern. So Choices went down.
