It just so happens that I put a 3" cutout on my car last weekend.
Here is a video of the car just after my cam install. I have a TR224 on a 112, your hotcam will sound choppier than my TR224.

And here is a video of my car with the cutout open.

The first one is a start up video, the second one a quick rev and some ideling.
My camera sucks ***, so the sound quality is sucky, it is VERY choppy in real life, there is no doubt in anyones mind that there is a cam in my car. Yours will sound just as good!

I'd take the 224 112 over the hotcam.....oh yeah...lol, I actually did.
But there's a lot of other great cams out there, I was, and still am, a newbie as far as the cam stuff goes, so that's why I played it safe and went with the old tried and true TR224. Do your research, ask a lot of questions, and be honest about yourself what you want to achieve with your car, and you'll make the right choice.
I wanted a mean sounding car that makes some nice power but doesn't see the drag strip....street machine only, so for that reason driveability was at the top of my list, followed closely by lopey idle. Next on my list are brakes and gears.
Glad I could help.
