Default what would be the best tire to use for street use on a 18x13 in rim

I am insearch of the stickiest tire that will fit on an 18x13in wheel. I don't care about rain or snow traction, just as long as it is sticky. And where I can get a few miles out of them.

how tall are these tires, how well do they hook, and what's the cost.

Yes, the nitto 335 will be pretty sticky with a treadwear rating of 100 ALSO, another option would be the Michelin pilot sport cup 245/35/18 with a treadwear of 80. So they will be wider and stickier. That's the route I'm going after I smoke these 335's up.

sounds good, but how do these tires compare to drag radials.

I meant 345 for the pilot cups. The nittos will have more give in the sidewalls but will give you a little rear end sway when you're turning suddenly. The Cups are roadrace oriented so they will give you great handling and with a treadwear of 80 they're going to be as sticky as you can get. Probably another full inch of contact patch over the nittos as they run skinny.

so there isn't a tire like a drag radial that will fit an 18x13 wheel. is there anything out for an 18in wheel of any size.

Yes. The 335/30 Nitto DR will fit.

Also, you will only get a "few" miles out of the Pilot Sport Cups.

so a nitto D R will fit, and will those hook better than the pilot sports.

and when you say a few miles, about how many.

Most nitto users report anywhere from 5Kmi to 7.5Kmi on then with maily street use. Probably expect about 5K out of the cups. Performance comes at a cost no matter how you look at it.

I believe the one you are talking about is "not for use on highways" meaning it will overheat and blister etc on roads and highways. I've checked into that one already.

I'm running 315/30/18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's on 18"x11" wheels for the rear of my Trans Am. I went with the Cup's because I didn't want to sacrifice cornering ability by running a drag radial, but I still wanted that drag radial like hook. Let me assure you... they grip something fierce. Yes, they will wear out quick, but no quicker than a BFG drag radial, I expect to get 2-3 years out of mine... only drive 2-3,000 miles a year.

Also, they do run a little large. My 315's look more like 325's, running the 345's would be insane looking.

Damn..... With that kind of power you'd be hard pressed to find any tire that would hold traction!

Well then the cup's sound like a good choice, since I would lose a lot of cornering ability. and the 345' s will be on my zo6 with a mini tub.

and with the power I will be making, there really isn't a good option for me but a slick.

Man.... All you guy's running the 345's are making me jealous.

Look's like I might have to widen my wheels and ditch the "little " 315's for some real tires.

Hoosier makes a drag radial in 335. I would go with that in my opinion.
