Default ASP Underdrive Pulley REMOVAL

To remove the ASP Underdrive Pulley from the crank, is the same 3-Arm Puller used as when removing the stock crank pulley?

Just want to make sure...

Thanks!

Its the screw type puller. I had to buy some screws at Lowes cause the ones I got when I bought the puller did not fit at all. Once you find everything you need though its a piece of cake.

You can use a 3-jaw puller just as long as its big enough to go around the outside...I just did that because I couldnt figure out what size bolts you needed for the bolt holes in the ASP pulley. Rented the puller from O'Reilly's.

Yeah I was kicking my own *** cause it took forever to find the correct size bolts to use. If anyone needs them I can look back on the bag.

I had to go to home depot and get some bolts, make sure you dont strip the threads out in the pulle, or you will be in a world of ****!

I would keep them if i were you, you never know when you will have to take it off again.

Not a problem

I had to use some washers as well cause the bolts were to small for the puller that I bought.

Think I found them at McMaster-Carr.....

Have a look and agree/disagree:

www.mcmaster.com and then type in P/N 91286A182 in the 'search' field on the left...

AND, is this the "screw-type" puller that you're referring to? P/N 69805A25 (also in the McMaster online catalog...)

Here's why I hate doing this. This type of result is always my luck:

Yesterday spent 45 minutes total, driving to the closest Lowes, scanning their bolt section, and returning.
Wasted $2.50 in gas.
Only could find 5/16-24 bolts in Grade-5 ( )
They wanted $2.39 for two of these bolts, only come in packs of two. So I'd would have needed to purchase two packs + tax = $5.07.
$5.07 + 2.50 gas + wasted time (priceless to me) ---> for medium strength Grade-5 bolts which would break in the ASP Pulley during my removal and totally screw me for another 4 hours as I then would have to fight to remove the sheared slug. Ugh, no thanks. The mere fact that I wasted 45 minutes of my (extremely busy) daily life is enough on its own to **** me off.

--Or--

Spend 5 minutes online at McMaster, click, click, click. Get 50 *Grade 8* bolts for $7. Saves me time, aggravation, and I get the proper quality parts. Then have a boatload of spare bolts to add to my collection, or to giveaway to others here on this board.

One last question though - is 1" length long enough? Seems pretty short to feed thru the normally beefy "spider" of the screw-puller and have sufficient threads to still get adequate attachment to the Pulley.

Redhawk, can you confirm the length needed of the 5/16 bolt?

Pretty sure that I used 1.25"-1.5" bolts. I was able to find some grade-8's at my workplace, and used those....
