Default It won't fit!

I bought a used 98-02 SS spoiler from a friend of mine...it has never been on a car. Well I went to test fit it on my car before I paint it and it doesn't seem to line up correct. It bolts up great it's just the fact that it doesn't sit down near as far as the OEM does...so it leaves a hump where it meets the hatch. What can I do the make it line up ok and have any of yall had this problem before.

I'm not sure if I understand. Can you adjust the ruber bumpers under the hatch to lower it enough to make the spoiler line up?

Its not the hatch that won't line up...it's where the spoiler meets the front of the hatch by the rear window...its about 4 inches wide...it sticks up almost half an inch and under the spoiler there is about a half in gap too

Just adding some comedy...that's the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread...

What year is your car? I wonder if it depends on the year...as in like LT1 vs an LS1...i wouldn't think it would matter, but then again the wings are different from those two styles aren't they?

well first off, is it OEM or aftermarket. and also how is it used but never been on a car?

anyways ive been through 4 spoilers on my old car/friends cars. oem always matches up, aftermarket is not so well. ive seen 2 aftermarkets sit flush and 1 have the same problem

also 93-02 used the same hatch so thats not an issue

I'll try to post some pics...its new but I think of it as used b/c I bought it off someone else. I know that it came from SLP. I sat both my OEM and the SS beside each other and the front part of the wing near the window is much thicker on the SS than the OEM...should I take some off the spoiler or add some to the hatch.
