My cousin just bought a 2006 carreraS Porshe. Naturally a race was arranged. But not with out excluding his friends 430 rwhp Supra.

Me and the supra go at it first. From a 70 mph roll to 120 mph he put 2-3 cars on me before we shut down at 120 mph. I was pretty happy with the out come considering he has 50 more rwhp than I do..

Then him and my cousins stock 355 HP porshe go at it many many many times. The porshe looses by a pretty good margin each time. But there so busy racing each other that they forget about me.

So Im two cars behind the Porshe and Supra and go WOT around 1 second after they hit it at 70 mph..

At first im staying 2-3 cars back from the porshe and dont seem to be pulling. But around 85 mph ( man i love my HUD) I start realing him in and by 100 mph I have closed the two to three car gap and pass him up.

We do this 2-3 more times from the same out come and then go to wendy's to talk about it. At first I was kinda upset that we never had a fair even start race. But then realized that coming two cars from behind a 911S porshe and then pulling him in and passing him means my car has come a long way since it was bone stock. And I was pretty happy. Also pretty happy with the run with the 430 rwhp Supra as well...

Considering all the magazines say a stock vette runs 13.0-13.4 at 107-109 mph (105 for an auto) and that the carrera runs 12.6 at 111 mph (MT) my car has defiently came a long way.

Your car is supposedly a monster. but I always found it funny how you can have a mod list as extensive as yours ( were talking 50 grand in mods easy) but then you can neever seem to go to a track and get some real times or even go to a dyno and get some real numbers.

Your always like...My friends 350Z has the same mods as me minus this and that and he made 800 rwhp and ran 9.8, so I should be 900-1000 rwhp and run 8's or 9's. How about you spend 100 more dollars and go do a dyno..Or spend 60 dollars for a helmet and track times???????

Ironic, I'm in the market to buy an '02 or '03 TT Porsche . . . I, for one, happen to LOVE the 911TT.

Unbelievably efficient engine`that makes decent power, great weight distribution and suspension, 2+2 seating, lots of cargo space, and a KICK A$$ interior :) Not to mention the fact that one could rip it through the rain OR snow via the superb all-wheel drive :drive:

FYI: Volkswagen does not own any interest in Porsche. Rather, contrary to many other car manufacturers, Porsche is independantly owned (by the Porsche family and individual shareholders). Porsche does, however, own a stake in Volkswagen.

Ironic, I'm in the market to buy an '02 or '03 TT Porsche . . . I, for one, happen to LOVE the 911TT.

Unbelievably efficient engine`that makes decent power, great weight distribution and suspension, 2+2 seating, lots of cargo space, and a KICK A$$ interior :) Not to mention the fact that one could rip it through the rain OR snow via the superb all-wheel drive :drive:

FYI for those that might think I'm a "Porsche-only Fanatic:" I own 2 LS1'S. One of my LS1'S makes an "estimated" +600rwhp on stock displacement :)

Honestly dude, I rarely hate sports cars. I don't think there is one that I don't like, or wouldn't have for myself, if I could.

Maybe this will put it into perspective for you...if your heterosexual that is. And ofcourse, you have a REAL passion for cars/speed. Like myself.

They're like women, cars that is, they're all different but, all in the end, they're doing, or trying to do the same thing,....please me. They all have different personalities, different curves, different problems, and different hearts...but you love them all. Except for that one. Nothings as hot as her(in your mind), nothing smoother looking, nothings treated you better....and nothing at that particular moment matters, except for her. It's kinda the same way, for me and Corvettes.

So,..therefore,...the Porsche, a great car but, I simply am more in love with my car.

Which brings me here,...LS1TECH.com... a GM automotive site. I work on thery're products everyday. They're a "LOCAL" brand, as in American made, and I dig that. So, when you GM owners, LSX owners tell me that you think the PORSCHE is a superior car, better or faster, blah blah blah.....you can kiss my ass. Who's the class leader every year in GT1? The C5R was, and the C6R is. On the street, you can NOW compair the C6 Z06 to a porsche Carrera GT. Look at the price difference. If GM did the same out of the factory, price wise, as an option, you'd end up with a C6R with an interior. Think Le-mans winner with leather. So, for all you GM haters out there, or people hateing on me for being passionate about a car, my car, and voiceing my opinion,...you can kiss my ass. I don't hate porches, just cocky people that think they're god, and they're car, is faster then anyone elses. I personally fuck up porsches, and other exotic cars. THAT IS WHY I OWN A CORVETTE....THATS THE MAIN REASON!!! TO PURPOSLY FUCK UP EXOTIC's. Thats the storie's "I'LL" be telling my kids one day. How I fucked up, a high dollar factory BULLET, factory fucking street legal race car. Doesn't matter which brand....I really don't care. It's all in fun though people. All in fun. You see, I sit back, and laugh at this.....you think about it in your down time. lol.

Those Supercars are 100 times nicer and they are 200K+ because of what they are and who made them. GM spits out shitloads of Corvette's made by machines and shit, and they are nice for 40K or so. But you get what you pay for. Most porsche owners and supercar owners think their 200K cars are fast enough, even if they are not as fast as a H/C C5. But if they wanted to own one of the million corvettes out there, they could. But why when you could step up a class. Maybe this still isn't getting through to you, and if not, then oh well. There will always be jealous haters out there.

Now, that's some serious :turd: ! You think because a car is $200k, it's in a different class? Since when does a price of a vehicle put it in a different class. So a $90k viper is a different class than a corvette at $40k? And there's large import fees on the porsche from what I have been reading. Same thing to buy a corvette in Europe. From what I have read, it's $70k plus for a standard vette.

Yep I saw it. I knew all about it. The same person that does my paint and bodywork is the same person that did Gus's E55. I was the one that introduced him. Mike has worked on all 4 of my Supras.
